The Project

Utica College awarded their emergency management consulting, training, and exercise contract to Epicenter Media & Training for the 2016-2017 academic year.

This project began with a comprehensive evaluation of Utica College’s Emergency Management programs and plans, evolving over an initial period of six months to include full-day classroom instruction for incident command and higher education emergency response; tabletop exercise design, control, and evaluation; and executive consulting to administration and other incident management personnel at the College.

Our Partnership

Epicenter Media & Training’s higher education team has built a strong partnership with Utica College’s leadership team throughout the year, instating new programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing UC’s resilience to emergency/crisis incidents as well as their management of planned events.

Though Utica College has undertaken incident command training and emergency response training previously, their engagement with Epicenter has been described as “the first time it all clicked” (VP of Marketing/Communications). UC now has three fully-staffed Campus Emergency Management Teams as well as a repeatable, scalable structure for managing incidents and planned events on their main campus or in relation to their satellite properties.

The Epicenter team is excited to provide specialized Incident Command & National Incident Management Systems (ICS/NIMS) training; emergency operations planning; test, training and exercise coordination; crisis communications consulting; and other support services to Utica College.

Utica College picked the right firm to assist them with their mission: “Never Stand Still”.

If your university is interested in taking higher education emergency management to the next level, call Epicenter Media & Training for a free training and exercise planning consultation.
